Responsible e-waste

  • We prioritise reuse, certified recycling streams, and safe handling.
  • Small consumer IT gear accepted (subject to inspection and recycler guidance).
  • Large appliances or hazardous categories may be referred to specialist providers.
  • Written confirmation of disposal available on request for batch jobs.

Data handling

  • Logical wipe of drives on request; or we can remove drives for your retention/destruction.
  • Optional recovery/backup before disposal can be quoted.
  • We only access data to the extent required and with your consent.

Battery safety

  • Do not puncture, crush, or expose to heat. If swollen or damaged, isolate it.
  • Tape terminals or place each battery in a small bag to prevent shorting.
  • Bring batteries in a sturdy container; we’ll advise on safe handling and routing.

On-site safety basics

  • Clear workspace with adequate ventilation and power access.
  • Identify trip hazards and secure cables where possible.
  • Pets/children kept clear of tools and hot components during work.
  • We follow a concise checklist for technician and client safety.

How disposal works

  1. 1

Request disposal: Email digissentialteam@gmail.com with items, quantities, photos (if possible), and whether you need data wipe or drive retention.

  2. 2

Confirm options: We’ll confirm acceptance, any fees, and arrange drop-off or a local collection window if required.

  3. 3

Data & routing: Drives handled per your choice (wipe/retain). Equipment routed to reuse or certified recycling; confirmation available on request.

FAQ

  • Do you wipe data before recycling?

Yes. With your consent we perform a logical wipe or remove drives for physical retention/destruction. For recovery or retention requests, we’ll confirm options and costs beforehand.

  • Can you collect old equipment?

Local collection can be arranged on request and quoted case-by-case. We can combine collection with a service booking or disposal batch.

  • What items are typically accepted?

Most consumer IT equipment: laptops/desktops, loose drives, small peripherals, small networking devices, and batteries (packed safely). Large appliances or hazardous industrial e-waste may be referred to specialised recyclers.

  • Can I keep my old drive?

Absolutely—many clients prefer to keep or physically destroy old storage. Tell us during booking and we’ll note it on the job.

  • Do you provide proof of disposal?

Yes, we can note disposal on your invoice, and for larger batches provide a written confirmation from our downstream recycler on request.
